The Abraid service
Abraid connects passengers with independent drivers for car and motorcycle rides in Mauritania. Abraid provides the booking technology; drivers are responsible for their vehicles and for holding the licences and insurance that the law requires. A request depends on an approved driver being available nearby, so acceptance and arrival times are not guaranteed.
Your account
You must be at least 18 years old, give accurate information and keep your password private. Use one account per person and do not share it. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time under Account & help.
Fares and cash payment
Before you request a ride, the app shows the fare based on the route distance and time and the vehicle type. That fare is paid in cash (MRU) directly to the driver at the end of the trip, and the driver confirms collection in the app. There is currently no cancellation fee.
Respectful conduct: zero tolerance
Abraid has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour, in chat or in person. You must not:
- harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against anyone;
- send sexual, violent, hateful or otherwise offensive messages or images;
- drive or behave unsafely, or ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
- commit fraud, overcharge, or misuse another person’s account or information;
- use the service for anything illegal.
Reporting and blocking
You can report or block the other person of a ride from the chat, from their card during a trip, or from the trip details afterwards. Blocked users are not matched with you again and cannot message you. Our team reviews every report within 24 hours and may remove content and suspend or permanently remove accounts that break these terms.
Drivers
Drivers must be approved by Abraid before receiving requests, keep their documents and vehicle details accurate and valid, follow traffic laws, and complete accepted trips safely. Approval is an access decision by Abraid and does not replace any legal transport, licence or insurance requirement.
Safety
In an emergency, contact local emergency services first. Then report the incident in the app or by email so we can act on the accounts involved.
Liability and changes
Abraid is provided as available. To the extent permitted by law, Abraid is not responsible for the acts of passengers or drivers or for losses arising from a trip, beyond any liability that cannot be excluded. We may update these terms; we will show the new date on this page, and continuing to use Abraid means you accept the update. These terms are governed by the laws of Mauritania.
